Course Curriculum

Name of the course : Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Basic qualifications & prerequisite for entrance in MBBS Course: I) HSC or equivalent with Science. (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) ii) Candidate has to secure required grade point in the SSC and HSC examinations/equivalent examination. Students selection procedure for MBBS course: According to merit as per national policy guidelines.
Medium of Instruction: English
Duration: MBBS course comprises of 5 years, followed by logbook based rotatory internship for one year
Course structure, subject with duration and professional examination
The MBBS course is divided into four phases.

NB : All academic activities including professional examination of each phase must be completed within the specified time of the phase.

Special note: After taking admission into the first year of MBBS course, a student must complete the whole MBBS course (pass the final professional MBBS examination) within 12 years timeline.

Note:

Anatomy includes General Anatomy, General Embryology, General histology, Head and Neck, CNS and eyeball, Systemic embryology of Head and Neck, CNS and Eyeball, Genetics, Superior and Inferior Extremities, Thorax and Abbomen, Systemic Embryology, Systemic Histology.

Physiology includes General Physiology, Blood, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Alimentary System, Endocrinology, Reproduction System, Kidney and body fluids, Nervous System & body temperature, Special senses.

Biochemistry includes Elemintary Biochemistry and Biololecules, Chemistry of Proximate Food Principles, Nutrirional Biochemistry (Macronutrients, Vitamins, minarals), Digestion and Absorption, Metabolism (carbohydrate, protein and Fat metabolism), Molecular Biology and Genetics, Clinical Biochemistry (Important diseases related investigation, methods of analytes estimation), Clinical Endocrinology.

Pharmacology & Therapeutics includes-General Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics Autonomic & CNS Pharmacology, Chemotherapy, Clinical pharmacology etc.

Forensic Medicine includes-Medical ethics, BMDC, rights & privileges of doctors, autopsy, consent, asphyxial death, DNAprofiling, wounds, preganancy & delivery, poisoning, end life care etc.

Community Medicine & Public Health includes-Concept of Community Medicine, Health & Diseases, Primary Health Care, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Research methodology, Public health nutrition, Occupational health, Environmental health, Immunity, Behavioral Science etc.

Pathology includes General Pathology, Systemic Pathology, Haematopathology, Chemical and Clinical Pathology.

Microbiology includes Bacteriology, Immunology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology and Clinical Pathology.

Medicine includes Internal Medicine, Paediarics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Venereal Diseases and Physical Medicine.

Surgery includes General and Regional Surgery, Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Radiotherapy, Blood Transfusion and Dentistry.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology includes pregnancy, delivery and management of female genitourinary problems .
